Make A Wish

This card is a catalog case, or actually a SAB flyer case.  On page 15 of the 2014 SAB flyer, there is a card that looks remarkably similar except the stamp used is different.  The DSP and card stock colors are the same.  I used the same embossing folder and edgelit.  However, I used a stamp from the Perfect Pennants stamp set for my card.  I'll be needing to build up my birthday card stash for the new year and this is a good start!  I hope you like my card.

Coastal Christmas

This card is based on the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch 71(PCCCS071).  I wanted to use my new Fresh Prints paper from the 2014 Occasions catalog, but I'm also still thinking Christmas.  I decided to make this card for my husband using the 3.5 x 5 note cards. The sentiment comes from Christmas Messages, one of the best sentiment stamp sets I've ever seen.  The tag is left over from the Holiday Catalog's Real Red Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit.  I don't own the Chevron Border Punch, but it only took a few clips with my snips to turn that Coastal Cabana card stock into a fun adornment.  Three Coastal Cabana Boutique Details finish the sketch.  I hope you like my card.

Petal Parade Thanks

My 2014 Occasions catalog purchases arrived last night at 9:00 PM after I had been stalking the UPS man all day long.  First thing this morning I assembled the stamp sets and I couldn't wait to put together my first card.  This is a loose case of a card by Justin Krieger.  I copied his idea to punch out the flowers instead of trying to cut them exactly.  The DSP is called Sweet Sorbet and the flower stamps are called Petal Parade and both of those will be available as Sale-A-Bration freebies between January 28th and March 31st next year.  The sentiment is from the Occasions catalog, called Simply Celebrate.  I hope you like my card!

Be Merry!

One of my November swaps was to make a pocket card.  I really didn't know what that meant but one of the members directed me to Splitcoast Stampers.  They had a good tutorial on pocket cards. This one is called a Criss Cross Card. I love how all the Stampin' Up products coordinate so well.  It makes me look good every time!  I hope you like my card!

Fun Christmas

I made this card for a swap group that I am in.  It was based on a sketch by Frances A. Sylvia.  I used several pieces of Winter Frost DSP and the stamp is from Christmas Messages.  I love the sparkle added by the strip of glimmer paper and the Frosted Finishes embellishment.  I hope you like my card.

The Colors of Fall

I love the colors of fall.  This card makes me smile a big silly grin.  I used my new Fiscars stamp press to help me line up the stamps onto the precut leaf shapes. It will take a little more practice but I like the result.  Hope you like my card.

Paper Napkin Background

I recently read a tutorial about making background paper with paper napkins and cling wrap.  Shortly after that one of my friends brought a snack to my house accompanied by these colorful napkins.  I just had to give the technique a try!  I think they came out pretty good!  For this card I used a 4 x 4 piece of Whisper White card stock.  I put a small piece of cling wrap over that, with the pretty paper napkin on top.  Cover with a piece of scrap and press it with a medium iron.  The cling wrap melts and holds the layers together.  Then I trimmed the excess about 1/2 inch from the Whisper White, added some snail adhesive and wrapped the excess to the back side!  Background done!

Sweater Weather Thanks

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 191 was my inspiration for this card.  I knew right away that I wanted to use the leaf from Wonderfall so I started from there.  I cut the circle with the Circles Collection Framelits. I tested the Washi Tape directly to the Sweater Weather DSP but you could see through it, so I decided to mount the Washi tape onto a strip of Whisper White card stock first.  Even then, the beige Washi was too blah so I added some doodling.  Then while the Chocolate Chip marker was still out I decided to add doodling to the circle also.  Various colored Candy Dots completed the accessories.  I stamped sentiments from Lots of Thanks to the front and inside as well.  I hope you like my card!

Gratitude

I used {Freshly Made} Sketches #1 as the inspiration for this card.  I don't have the Deco Label Framelits yet so I had to cut this out by hand.  Hope you like my card!

Being Thankful

This card is based on a sketch by Connie and Mary called CCMC263.  I used this sketch as an opportunity to express my gratitude for the seasons, especially fall, which is my favorite time of year.
I hope you like my card.

Manly card

I think manly cards are difficult sometimes.  Usually if I keep to a monochromatic color scheme in browns it turns out looking more masculine.  I used a couple of new products from the Holiday catalog:  Season of Style DSP Stack and Magnificent Maple stamp.  The sentiment is from Four You and I used Baked Brown Sugar as my card base with accents of Early Espresso Candy Dots.  I hope you like my card!

Dahlia Thank You

This card is based upon SCS Sketch SC316.  I combined Pool Party and Old Olive for this two-toned look.  The dahlia was inked in Island Indigo ink but colored in with Pool Party and a blender pen.  I used the trick I learned at convention to tie the ribbon.  ( Retired two-tone ribbon that I loved!). I hope you like my card.

Warm Wishes

So I needed a Christmas card done in non-traditional colors and I had received the Winter Frost DSP, the silver 1/8" ribbon and the Remembering Christmas stamp set as my Prize Patrol gift at the SU convention, so I figured that was perfect for my card!  The new Smoky Slate is very silver in tone so it is perfect to go with this DSP. I accented the layers with Island Indigo for a little "pop". I hope you like my card!

Thanks, so much

My SU upline posted a sketch challenge yesterday for our Facebook group.  This was my take on the sketch.  Hope you like my card!

Gee, thanks

I originally saw a similar card on the Stampin' Up! website on the customer page.  I liked the sewing and the use of the Embossing Folder to guide the stitches.  Hope you like my card!

Thinking of You

I created this card for a Sketch swap for one of my Yahoo groups.  I really like the combination of Summer Starfruit and Coastal Cabana.  The stamp set is called Kind & Cozy.  At first I didn't like the sentiment done in black, but after I added some other black doodles, I think it all tied together.  I hope you like my card.

Baker's Twine Birthday

I just love this stamped flower from the Flower Shop stamp set.  It reminds me of one of the first stamp sets that I ever got with SU called All Natural.  Do you remember that one?  It had a pear, a leaf, an acorn and a Thank You sentiment.  But I loved the flower.  That's why when I saw this string flower on Pinterest (meridianroad.blogspot.ca) I just knew I had to make one to use on a card with the stamped flowers.  I hope you like my card.

A Million and One Thanks

This is a card I am sending for one of my Yahoo swap groups.  The main colors are Midnight Muse, Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz.  I love the swirly sentiments in this new stamp set called Million & One.  I hope you like my card!

Thank You Notes

Aren't these cute?  The butterflies are covered in Washi-tape.  This card is a case of a card that was shared from the Fiji trip.  I changed the colors, the button and the sentiment but otherwise it is the same.  These will be put in with my June orders.  I hope you like my cards.

Oval Framelit Box

I made this box from scratch using Crumb Cake Cardstock and the Oval Framelits.  If you would like directions on how to make this cute box, join Linda Heller's Stamping School.  Complete directions are on one of her videos!  I hope you like this!

Another Catalog Case!

Check out page 76 of the current SU catalog and you'll see the inspiration for today's card.  What isn't evident in the picture is the window sheet that has been embossed with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder.  I wish my camera could pick that up.    New chevron ribbon used on this card, too! I hope you like my card.

For the Baby

Recently one of my fellow demonstrators gave birth to her second child.  This is the card I made to send to her.  The color is Wisteria Wonder and So Saffron.  I figured she was probably receiving enough pink cards for her sweet girl.  This card uses the Baby Tees wheel and the sentiment is from One in a Million.  I hope you like my card!

Stretch Your DSP

Those of us who do classes to share our love of Stampin' Up are always looking for ways to stretch our DSP, that is to make a small piece go a little farther.  This card uses only one 4x4 piece of the Secret Garden DSP.  It is cut into three pieces:  one is 4 x 2.5 and glued to the top of the card.  One piece is 4 x 1 and glued to the bottom.  In between a 2" piece of whisper White carries the sentiment and covers the breach.  The remaining 1/2 inch piece of DSP is used on the inside to add that little extra something.  Hope you like my card.

Flower Filmstrip

Tis card is the result of an unusual swap in one of my groups.  We had to pick three things from one of the members' information in the database and make the card accordingly.  This particular member said that she liked the movies, flowers, and the color pink.  I decided this filmstrip card would showcase all three!  I hope you like my card.

Amazing Friend

This card is a total Catalog Case of the card on page 117 in the new SU catalog.  I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get all the individual stamps to line up just right. This uses 3 stamps from Amazing Family and also the large stamp from Layered Labels. I used Versamark and clear embossing powder for the background stamp.  I just noticed my poor green butterfly is trying to escape! I hope you like my card!

In-Color Swap Card

I signed up for a sketch swap in one of my swap groups.  This card is a result of that sketch swap that had to have a birthday theme and 4 items on the front panel in honor of the group's 4th birthday!  I decided to use the new SU 2013-2015 In-Colors for my focus.  Hope you like my card!
Connie

For the Birds

I made this card for one of my swap group Sketch swaps.  I used the For the Birds stamp set, watercolor paper and the new 2013-2015 SU In-Colors.  The background paper was printed using My Digital Studio.  I hope you like my card!

May Orders Thank Yous

My Thursday girls ( hi Kathie, Jen and Joan!) decided to hold their orders until May 31st so they could take advantage of the new catalog.  These are the thank you notes that I will be adding to their orders. I saw a similar card done by Julie Davison and I just loved it.  She had some white ribbon on her card but I decided not to add ribbon this time.  She also had some actual gingham paper for her card and I decided to try to use the gingham wheel.  That was hard!  It kept going crooked!  I did eventually get three small pieces of yellow/white gingham check that I could use for my cards.  It sure would have been easier if I had one of those Wheel Guides.  Hope you like my cards.

It's a New Year!

So, it has been 2 years since I posted anything on my blog.  I don't have any excuses, I just didn't do it!  I'm not going to be crazy and promise to post every day here, but I will try to be more diligent.  I have some new Stampin' Up! products that I've been experimenting with.  This card uses the Wildflower Meadow and Label Love stamp sets with one of the new in-colors, Strawberry Slush.  I stamped the wildflowers first, then cut that layer with the oval framelit, then ran it through the embossing folder.  I love the extra touch that the pearls add, don't you?
I hope you like my card.
